Our view

The view from Nakusp Veterinary Clinic

Nakusp is a village of about 1600 people on the shores of the Arrow Lakes, and is a service centre for the surrounding area.  It has all of the amenities of a much larger centre - including an arena, curling rink, squash court, ski hill, hospital, dentist, veterinary clinic (that's us!), and retail outlets for essential and whimsical items.

The village is charming, friendly, beautiful and safe.  The beach and playground are right downtown, and free-range kids roam safely.  Neighbours watch out for each other and most folks are genuinely helpful and kind.

We found Nakusp by accident when we were looking for hotsprings and hiking.  It is off the beaten track, but the trip here from any direction is worth it.  Whether you come from the north enjoying the scenery on the free ferry crossing, from the west over the curving Monashee road, or from the south up the beautiful Slocan Valley, both the destination and the journey are glorious!

We fell in love with the place, and we think you will too.  Check it out!
