About Us

Dr. Amber with a puppy

Dr. Amber Robinson, BSc, MSc and DVM, is our resident bird watcher, biologist, gardener, ecologist, mother and veterinarian.

Growing up on Vancouver Island, she moved from Chemainus to St John's, with stops in Winnipeg and Calgary, while studying biology, geography, behavioral ecology and finally veterinary medicine with a special interest in behaviour.

Along the way Dr Amber has added one charming husband, three small humans, two fuzzy felines and one feathered friend to her household.

Jackie Jackie and Banjo

Jackie is our veterinary assistant.

She helps us to make sure your pets are comfortable and well-cared for while they are in the hospital.  Jackie has taken extra training in anesthesia and monitoring as well as veterinary assistant training.

Jackie moved here from Alberta in 2008, with her husband and two children.  In 2013, she started work at Nakusp Veterinary Clinic.  Her hobbies are reading and knitting, and like most parents, she spends a lot of her spare time chauffeuring children.  Jackie has one family pet, Banjo.
